1. Could you tell us a bit about yourself, your professional background, and your current role here at agap2?
I’ve been with agap2 Netherlands for 3 years now as a Tech Recruiter, focusing on IT and Engineering profiles. Before moving into recruitment, I spent 10 years working as a Software QA, which helped me truly understand both the technical side of the roles and the people behind them. At agap2, I accompany talents to find their best-fit opportunities and build long-term relationships along the way.
2. At what point did you start thinking about switching to recruitment? What sparked that interest?
The switch happened naturally. When I moved to the Netherlands 7 years ago, I realized that while I loved technology, my real strength was communication and connecting with people. I enjoyed helping others find opportunities that matched their goals. Recruitment allowed me to stay close to the tech world I knew, but in a way that felt more human, dynamic, and impactful.
3. What does a typical day look like for you now?
My day usually starts with syncs with business managers about ongoing roles. Then I spend time sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and submitting the best talent to the hiring process.
I also focus on employer branding, market analysis, data-driven recruitment, and improving our ATS system, besides thinking about how we can continuously improve the way we connect people with projects.
4. What do you enjoy most about recruiting in the IT and Engineering industry?
I love how fast-moving and innovative the industry is, especially with all the AI developments happening now, which I find really exciting. Every role and every candidate is different, this broadens my knowledge and keeps things interesting. But what I enjoy most is the feeling of being valuable when I place a candidate into a great project, it’s truly rewarding to know I played a small part in their journey.
5. How do you keep your knowledge sharp to stay relevant in IT and Engineering?
Mostly by staying curious. I follow news about new technologies, industry trends, and learn directly from the candidates I work with. I also enjoy attending tech meetups and events, they’re great opportunities to learn, exchange ideas, and see where the market is heading.
